Five
to seven women usually participate in a workshop
at a time, so everyone gets a great deal of individual
attention. |
|
My Pole Dancing classes are for women of all ages
and body types, although the weight limit on my removable
poles is 185 lbs. Pole Dancing does require some upper
body strength, however, the Intro
to Pole Dance Magic and Beginning
Pole Dance Workshop is geared towards everybody.
Each level will be building the strength and skills
needed to safely go to the next level.
|
Not at all! You will quickly see that my classes are relaxed and fun, with easy dance moves that you can feel confident performing over the four weeks. You'll even be able to move around the pole and perform a spin after the first class! This is a form of dance fitness in which laughter is one of the unsaid benefits! If you feel like an awkward duckling – you can look forward to turning into a gorgeous swan over the next 4 weeks! Ultimately I want you to have fun and feel good about yourself while getting in shape.
|
You may feel a little nervous at first, but you will see that most of the people in class are in the same boat! I find that during class students quickly let go of their inhibitions and give into the fun.
|
With any activity there is an element of risk, and pole fitness is no different. Please be aware of the following:
- Bruises: The pole is metal and body parts may bump into the pole causing bruises. These usually go away very quickly, and as your body gets used to the spins, you will stop bruising yourself.
- Pole friction (chaffing) /pole burn: This can sometimes be caused by gripping the pole too tightly as you spin. You will relax once you discover how easy it is to spin.
- Slipping: If you get hot or have very sweaty hands this can make it harder to grip. I have a product that you can use to counteract this effect.
Every effort is made to make your classes and sessions as safe and enjoyable as possible. However, you are also responsible for your own safety, so listen carefully to all instructions and listen to your own body. If something doesn't feel right for you, then alternatives can be provided if you notify the instructor.
